26th Annual Day at The Point Fall Festival!

  • Point of Honor 112 Cabell St Lynchburg, VA, 24504 United States (map)

FESTIVAL CANCELED

Due to the forecast for steady rain today, Day at The Point is canceled. There is no rain date. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 2, 2027!

This unique, family friendly fall tradition brings one of Lynchburg's oldest historic sites to life at a beautiful time of year.

Enjoy live music, living history, kids’ activities, free house tours, carriage rides (11–3), food trucks, and much more. Admission to the festival is always free and open to the public.

The day will be filled with fun activities and living history demonstrations, including cider making, woodworking, and open-hearth cooking. Enjoy music by harpist Chelsea Barnwell and DJ MadLad. Carriage rides around the neighborhood will be offered by Lexington Carriage Company from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wolf Creek Highlands Farm of Appomattox County will showcase Highland Cows and heritage sheep with demonstrations of fleece working.

Several local historic sites and community organizations will be represented, including Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, Academy Center of the Arts, Jones Memorial Library, Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, and others. A special scavenger hunt with prizes ends at the Point of Honor Gift Shop, which will offer a 20% discount on unique gifts, books, and prints.

Day at The Point began in 1998 as a free “family fun day” at Point of Honor. Generations of festival-goers have gathered to experience living history, music, storytelling, cooking demonstrations, traditional crafts, and free house tours in one of downtown Lynchburg’s most beautiful spots. For many it has become an annual tradition that celebrates the best of fall in the Hill City.
