Point of Honor

The mission of Point of Honor, Dr. George Cabell’s plantation home, is to engage and educate a diverse audience by collecting, preserving, and interpreting Lynchburg’s history during the Era of Good Feeling, 1815 -1830.

Lynchburg Museum Foundation

The Lynchburg Museum Foundation, founded in 1998, supports the Lynchburg Museum System—including the Lynchburg Museum at the Old Court House and the historic house Point of Honor—in its role as the city’s primary center for collecting, interpreting, preserving and sharing local history and culture.

Lyncburg Museum System

Point of Honor is part of the Lynchburg Museum System. The mission of the Lynchburg Museum System is to collect, interpret, preserve, and share the history and material culture of Lynchburg, Virginia, and the surrounding area.
