Point of Honor Plantation Grounds – Guided Walking Tour

  • Point of Honor Carriage House 109 Norwood Street Lynchburg, VA, 24504 United States (map)

Narcissa Chisholm Owen and Mary Brice

Point of Honor lies at the intersection of two worlds: the landowners and the enslaved people who, together, created the beautiful historic site we know today. This tour highlights the successes and struggles of the diverse plantation community in the early days of Lynchburg and our nation. Visitors explore the landscape around the historic house, including the Front Lawn, North Lawn, Orchard, and Hearth Kitchen. The tour does not go inside the main house.

Tours are free, but reservations are required in advance. Call (434) 455–6226 or visit LynchburgMuseum.org/calendar to reserve your spot. Each tour is limited to 20 people. Tour includes walking through grass and irregular terrain, so please wear comfortable walking shoes.
